Yes, another option. And there do exist possibilities. But I’m always concerned about flexibility. Like to-day, where a doctor’s appointment meant that I was returning early to the town where I live. Circumstances may change. But the buses worked well to-day. I felt like congratulating the driver of one bus when she arrived bang on time …

A bit more personal

To-day, I had a meeting with the lady from Occupation Health. Basically, we were trying to work out how far we’ve got. I’m feeling somewhat frustrated, having rather naively supposed that my diagnosis (of Asperger’s Syndrome) would be the key that would simply unlock the door to a way forward. Instead, right now, it almost seems to be an extra layer of difficulty. But this morning’s meeting was generally positive. The Occupation Health lady reassured me that she believes that an awareness session (or sessions) being organised will help enormously. So I am more hopeful in this regard than I was.

Do any physicists read this blog? Is the Large Hadron Collider a collider for large hadrons, or a hadron collider which happens to be large? And will we all be sucked into a black hole when it gets switched on? Just wondering …

The purple parade

Thankfully, it didn’t rain on this morning’s parade, although for much of the weekend it looked as though it would. I wasn’t there, but it must have been a grand sight, as the pupils and teachers of the school which our children attend processed from the old building to the new building, accompanied, I understand, by bagpipes (and possibly drums).
